Fukuoka Castle Cherry Blossom Festival
福岡城さくらまつり
The approximately 1,000 cherry trees at Maizuru Park are in full bloom. The gourmet area is lined with about 90 food stalls and food trucks, and at the teahouse you can enjoy sweets such as Japanese sake and Ohori eel. There is also a barbecue in the cherry blossom viewing area, about 40 festival food stalls, a street performance stage, and much more. You can collect stamps while touring the venue and learning about the history of Fukuoka Castle and the Korokan, and receive a prize.
The "Fukuoka Castle 'Spring Castle Tower' Illumination" event will also be held from 6pm to 10pm, where the cherry blossoms in the park and the castle tower base will be lit up (some areas are charged).

The walking event began in 2010 with the aim of "allowing people to enjoy walking through the history of Fukuoka and the old town of Hakata while admiring the cherry blossoms," and this year marks its 16th year.
